Connect Claude, Cursor and other AI tools over MCP

What MCP gives you

The VETR MCP server exposes tools that an AI assistant can call: search federal contract opportunities, grants, past awards and agency forecasts; draft text with FedProc-1; check your credit balance and usage; and, for VETR proposal-platform customers, search proposals, read VETR scores and compliance status, and find teaming partners.

Connect Claude or ChatGPT (sign in with your VETR account)

  1. In Claude, open Settings, then Connectors, and add a custom connector named VETR Proposal with the server address shown in the MCP guide. In ChatGPT, add a custom MCP connector with the same address and choose OAuth, where custom connectors are available on your plan.
  2. Your VETR account opens. Sign in, choose the workspace to connect (it starts on the one you are viewing) and approve read access, or read and write access. The connection stays with that workspace even if you switch workspaces later.
  3. The VETR tools appear in the assistant. Disconnect at any time under Connected apps, in Settings on the API Tokens page or in the developer console.

Connect with an API key (Cursor, Windsurf, Codex and others)

  1. Create an API key in the console (see Create and manage API keys).
  2. Open the MCP guide, pick your tool and copy the configuration block. It already contains the server address; paste your key where it says so.
  3. Restart the tool. The VETR tools appear in its tool list.

Tools that spend credit or send data out

Every tool is labelled. The live-data lookups and FedProc-1 spend credit from your balance, and the Google Drive and GovSlack tools send a proposal out of VETR and need a write key. Tools that only read never change anything.

Good to know

  • Do not put classified or controlled unclassified information (CUI) in a prompt or a lookup.
  • Review AI-drafted text before you rely on it.
