Getting started with VETR (15-minute walkthrough)
From signup to your first scored RFP in fifteen minutes. This walkthrough covers the four steps every new VETR customer should run through on day one.
1. Create your account (2 min)
Go to vetrproposal.com/register. Pick a strong password. We'll email a verification link — click it before continuing.
2. Set up your organization (5 min)
VETR needs to know your company before it can score RFPs against you. Required fields:
- Legal entity name + DBA
- UEI (Unique Entity ID) from SAM.gov — VETR uses this to pull your active SAM.gov registration data
- Primary NAICS code + up to 9 secondary NAICS codes
- SDVOSB / VOSB / 8(a) / WOSB / HUBZone certifications with effective + expiration dates
- CAGE code (if registered)
3. Add at least one past performance (5 min)
The Experience pillar of the VETR Score depends on your past-performance library. Add at least one contract with:
- Customer name + agency
- Contract value + period of performance
- Contract type (FFP, T&M, IDIQ, etc.)
- STAR narrative — Situation, Task, Action, Result (each 2–4 sentences)
- Reference contact (name, email, phone) — protect with internal-only flag if not yet public
Tip: Don't try to add all your past performance on day one. Add the three most recent and most relevant contracts. The library grows organically as you bid.
4. Upload your first RFP (3 min)
Click Upload RFP in the top bar. Drop the PDF or DOCX. The parser runs for 60–90 seconds, then routes you to the RFP detail page where you'll see:
- Your VETR Score (composite + four pillars)
- The auto-built compliance matrix
- AI commentary explaining the score
From here, you can create a proposal, generate AI section drafts, or assign teammates.
